A day at Jinsung Astra National University rarely belongs to only one place.
It moves between classrooms and cafés, libraries and practice rooms, residence halls and student meetings, training sessions and late-night study, quiet corners and crowded campus events. At JANU, university life is shaped as much by what happens between classes as by what happens inside them.
Campus brings together students from across disciplines, interests, backgrounds, and experiences within one shared community in Seoul.
The JANU campus is designed for more than moving from one class to another. Libraries, cafés, green spaces, lounges, recreation facilities, student centers, and informal study areas create places to work, meet, rest, and spend time throughout the day.
Students move between academic districts and residential areas, athletics facilities and cultural spaces, often making the same corners of campus part of their own routines.
A morning may begin in a lecture hall and end at a club meeting, rehearsal, match, study table, or café halfway across campus.
Student life at JANU is centered around the Student Center (05) and Jinsung Student Union (16), two of the university’s primary spaces for student organizations, leadership, events, and everyday campus activity.
Throughout the year, academic societies, cultural organizations, student media, service groups, recreational clubs, and interest-based communities meet across both buildings and throughout the wider campus.
At the beginning of the academic year, organization recruitment extends beyond meeting rooms and into the university’s central open spaces. The Jinsung Triangle, located beside Jinsung Library and several major academic buildings, becomes one of the busiest gathering areas on campus, while programs and student-led events continue south across Astra Road toward the Jinsung Circle and Jinsung Student Union.
Students may participate casually, contribute to individual projects, compete or perform, volunteer, publish work, organize events, or take on elected and appointed leadership roles.

THE HEART OF STUDENT LIFE
Student Center · Jinsung Triangle · Jinsung Student Union · Jinsung Circle
JANU’s residential communities sit along the eastern side of Main Campus, keeping students within walking distance of academic buildings, student spaces, health facilities, green areas, and Astra Road.
University housing includes both traditional residential communities and more independent student accommodations, supported by common areas, study spaces, laundry facilities, and residential programming.
Students are not required to live on campus throughout their entire university experience. Many also choose apartments and other housing in the neighborhoods surrounding JANU, connected to campus through Seoul’s public transportation network and nearby pedestrian routes.

OFF-CAMPUS LIVING
Students living independently in the surrounding neighborhoods remain closely connected to JANU through nearby transit, walking routes, and campus services.
Some of the most familiar parts of university life are the places students visit without putting them on a schedule.
JANU’s main academic campus is surrounded by cafés, casual restaurants, convenience services, and study spaces used throughout the day. The busiest cluster sits along the northern edge of campus, immediately above Jinsung Humanities Hall, Jinsung Hall of Law & Governance, Astra Behavioral Sciences Hall, and the School of Business & Economics.
Students move between these spaces for quick meals between lectures, coffee before morning classes, group work, post-practice food, or considerably longer stays than originally intended.

Students study throughout JANU, but the Jinsung Library (04) sits at the center of the university’s academic life.
Located immediately north of Astra Road and beside the Jinsung Triangle, the library is surrounded by several of JANU’s major academic buildings and remains within easy walking distance of both the Student Center and the southern academic district.
Individual study areas, collaborative spaces, reading environments, and academic resources support everything from short gaps between classes to longer evening sessions.
Study also extends beyond the library. Academic halls, the Student Center, Jinsung Student Union, cafés, and outdoor spaces provide alternatives depending on whether students need quiet concentration, group discussion, or simply somewhere to stay between commitments.

General student support is coordinated through university services across campus, while JANU’s broader health and medical environment includes facilities surrounding Astra Medical Sciences Hall (11) and nearby health services.
Students can access resources for general health concerns, counseling and wellbeing, accessibility, academic adjustment, and referrals when additional support is required.
STUDENT HEALTH
Astra Medical Sciences Hall · 11
Astra Medical Sciences Hall houses JANU’s Student Health Clinic, providing general consultations, basic treatment, health guidance, and referrals for students during the academic year.
The building also supports JANU’s health and medical sciences teaching, laboratory, simulation, and research environments, placing student health services within the university’s broader medical-sciences community.

JANU’s athletics culture extends beyond varsity competition.
Students can participate in recreational fitness, informal sport, organized intramural competition, and movement programs through university facilities and outdoor spaces across the southwestern campus.

Some of JANU’s most recognizable spaces are not buildings at all.
Open lawns, landscaped paths, courtyards, and parks form part of how students move through and experience campus. They become shortcuts between classes, meeting places, event spaces, places to eat, places to study, and sometimes somewhere to sit for ten minutes before doing anything else.

JINSUNG CIRCLE

ASTRA ROAD
JANU’s central east–west campus road, entering through the West Gate and continuing through the academic core toward the East Gate.
For generations of JANU students, these spaces have functioned as both landmarks and shorthand: meet at the Triangle, cross Astra Road, wait by the Circle.
Campus changes throughout the academic year as orientation programs, student organization fairs, athletic competition, performances, exhibitions, lectures, seasonal events, and university observances bring different parts of JANU together.
Large student events often extend through the Jinsung Triangle, Jinsung Circle, Student Center, Jinsung Student Union, Performing Arts Theater, and other shared spaces.
Among JANU’s oldest institutional observances is Founding Day.
DECEMBER 9
JANU Founding Day
Each year, the university marks the establishment of Jinsung Institute on December 9, 1908.
Founding Day brings together institutional history, campus programs, academic and cultural events, and recognition of the generations that have shaped JANU.
HELD EACH MAY
Jinsung Festival
진성대동제 · Jinsung Daedongje
Held each May, the Jinsung Festival brings together student organizations, performances, exhibitions, food, campus activities, and evening programs throughout Main Campus. Events extend from Jinsung Triangle and Astra Road to Jinsung Circle, the Student Center, Jinsung Student Union, and JANU’s major cultural and event venues.
JANU stretches from its northern academic halls to Han Park and the river-facing southern edge, with student life unfolding across classrooms, libraries, residences, cafés, cultural spaces, athletics facilities, and the paths connecting them.
The places may begin as building numbers on a map.
Eventually, they become directions.
